An older man is with me as we drive through the country alongside a river on a four wheeler. There are fish everywhere, even in the puddles. There aren’t many homes alongside the river, although we come to a cul-de-sac. We stop in the cul-de-sac and cast our fishing rods. I catch a tarpon, a black fish with a large, skinny, angular head and angular tail. The tail fin on the tarpon splits apart and looks like cotton inside with a leathery outside. There isn’t much meat on the fish, so after showing it to the neighbors I throw the fish back. The fish swims straight to the bottom of the river and buries it’s head in the riverbed.
